Thunderball has been creating big winners since it was launched in 1999 and now takes place four times a week - every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The game costs just £1 per line and you can win up to £500,000 for matching all five main numbers plus the Thunderball.
There are also eight other ways to win Thunderball prizes and you can even pick up a cash prize for matching the Thunderball on its own, making the odds of winning attractive for lottery players.

Play Thunderball
To play Thunderball you must select five main numbers from 1 to 39 and one additional Thunderball number from 1 to 14. If you don’t want to select your own numbers, you can take advantage of a Lucky Dip feature and have them selected at random on your behalf. Like other UK lottery games, you can enter the same set(s) of numbers for several consecutive draws if you want to play in advance.
When do draws take place?
Thunderball draws take place four times a week, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings and entries for the draw are just £1 each. That means every time a Lotto or EuroMillions draw takes place, a Thunderball draw takes place on the same evening.
Prizes
The top prize in Thunderball is worth £500,000, and to win that sum you need to match all five main numbers as well as the Thunderball itself. There are eight other prize levels in addition to the jackpot which are detailed below, along with the odds of winning in each case:
